Catherine Buni

Catherine Buni is a freelance writer and editor focusing on technology, health, and justice. Her stories and essays have been published by theAtlantic.com, The Boston Globe, The Common, LitHub, The Los Angeles Review of Books, OneZero, NiemanReports, The Verge, and others, and have been featured by Longreads, NBC News Today, NPR, MediaShift, MTV, and others. Buni’s reporting has been supported by the Investigative Fund and the Logan Nonfiction Fellowship program and named a 2017 Mirror Award winner. Her work has been anthologized in numerous collections, taught in university classrooms, including Columbia, Stanford, and Georgetown, and cited by such journals and institutions as the Harvard Law Review, Foreign Affairs, and The Council of Europe. She also has worked as an executive editor, was the founding editor of the award-winning magazine AMC Outdoors, and serves on the editorial board of the journal Appalachia. She is currently working on investigative stories about emerging community-based efforts to prevent sexual assault, and the legal, political, and public health implications of XR technologies.
