Aaron Lake Smith is a journalist and essayist from North Carolina, living in New York. He's written for TIME, Bookforum.com, Jacobin, Al Jazeera America, n + 1, and extensively for the VICE print edition. Before going freelance, he was the Senior Editor of VICE. His work has also been anthologized in City by City: Dispatches from the American Metropolis (n + 1 / FSG) and honored in the 2014 edition of Best American Travel Writing.
